Some home decorating

Lauren and I put up my three musican paintings that I made for my series painting project soph year. They are good addition for the wall behind the futon and the colors work really well with the futon and chair. We think it looks more homey now.

Plus a pic of my painting as of early today...

Progress...slow progress

I am now on my third painting this week for my show. I haven't finished my first two because I am not completely satisfied with them. They are more works in progress that are almost done. I put up a sketch of my third painting with its work in progress picture.

An old friend of mine that I worked on a logo design project back during my sophomore year asked me to draw the images for his crew teams' tshirt. Their boat is called the Nike, which is the goddess of Victory. I am incorporating the goddess with the spinnaker or large sail that often has a design distinguishing the boat. Anyways, I have done 2 rounds of sketches, the first one of a side angle of the goddess and now sketches of a frontal view of the goddess with the spinnaker behind her.

Second painting for show

Here is the drawing for my second painting for my show...

Mon Adresse a Paris

I am leaving Saturday June 30th from JFK for my two week "Drawing in Paris" Class at Parsons Paris. I will be there staying at La Foundation Suisse until I leave on Saturday July 14th. If any of you kind souls out there would like to send me a letter while im there, my address is:

Lindsey Balbierz
Foundation Suisse
7 K, Boulevard Jourdan
75014 Paris
France

Mail sent after Wednesday June 27th will probably not get to France until after I leave, so hurry to your mail boxes. A letter would be a little slice of home that would be such a great surprise. Also, if any one happens to know any cool, places in Paris, little stores or neighborhoods that are just fabulous, I would be very interested to hear about them. --->lindseybalbierz@gmail.com

So, I'm Back

That's right, I took a hiatus and spent a week and a half back in Cleveland. It was good hanging out, meeting the new puppy, Baily, (aka babycakes, tazmanian devil, bebe, oh the list goes on) having meals with old friends and driving up to Buffalo to spend time with my cousins, aunts, uncles, and my grandparents. This trip let me end the school year on a good note and open the summer with a fresh head.

But back to New York...I am going full throttle for my show at Klatch which will be taking place August 4th - September 8th. This is the sketch for my first painting that I am working on now. I have to accomplish 6 paintings in the next 2 months, given that I will be in Paris for 2 weeks during that time.
