Something to think about

Have you seen the American Apparel/Sesame Street limited edition tees commemorating SS's 40th anniversary?

I am a little conflicted about this.
First off, I love Sesame Street and fell in love with these tees. And I do like American Apparel clothing in itself (not so much the advertising and the company's attitude).
But the more I thought about it, the more I felt uneasy.

Is AA earning the money with SS's images? They say the images are from the SS archive. Copyright rules makes certain images fair game after x amount of years (I should look into that), so I wonder if SS even consented to this. . .

And something about the whole sex-driven, soft porn persona in AA's photos contrasting against the innocent and docile images of sweet Sesame Street characters seems so blasphemous to me.

Elmo #2 tee here $15

Okay, I will get off my soap box. What do you think?

Still cute tees...

that's a little creepy yah. last i read the work had to be 70 years old to "lose" it's copyright. i don't think orphan rights issues work on this one either. maybe it's time for me to get educated on this.
