Aerial Traffic pillows

I received my aerial traffic pillows in the mail this weekend all the way from Belgium.
The great people from Envelop have my design in their shop, which can be bought right here. See my introductory post about my pillows here.

I'm forwarding the pillow covers on to the Art for Japan art fundraiser. I will be sure to post a link to it here when it goes live.

Working with Katie Ridder

I am really excited to announce that I am currently working on several fabric and wallpaper designs for interior designer, Katie Ridder's custom line of wallpapers and fabrics.

You can check out her great prints that she already has in her collection here. We hope to work together and create at least 5 prints together.

Here are some designs from her existing print collection.

Katie Ridder's team had a great picture in Thursday's NYTimes for the Kips Bay Decorator Show House. Her pagoda wallpaper is in the front entryway, as seen here. You can read the article here.

And interestingly, after some client research, I learned her oiseau print was in the SATC 2 movie...in Carrie & Big's apartment. Pulled from a post on Elements of Style. Check it out.

I will be sure to show you the prints once they become available to the public and hopefully a sneakpeek before then if allowed. Look forward to sharing with you readers!

Asking for some feedback...

Psst! I need some feedback...what do you think of the above?
Would you be interested in buying one?

I am about to start selling products online, but would like to get an idea of what people might be interested in actually buying.
Would you have any interest in buying any of these?

I think I will extend my work to also be on placemats, fabric napkins, as well as the above, pillows, oven gloves, and pot holders.

Any feedback would be so, so helpful! Please just leave in my comments or comment on my facebook posting of this!

Thanks so much in advance! xo

Future Mantelpiece

Sigh.

Only until I can buy a home or be lucky enough to rent an apartment in NYC that has a mantlepiece as gorgeous as this one, will I be able to recreate my own version of the above.

I fell in love with the oversized gilded frame above the fireplace.
I guess I can dream...

Closet offices

Posted on DesignSponge,
I think these are just swell and making me think my desk could use a pick me up. After all, I've had the same drafting table since college.

I think a trip to the Ikea in Red Hook might be in order soon.

Settlin' in

It has been about 3 weeks since I moved in and things are starting to feel a little more homey. I am working on making my room a little sanctuary for myself. Being totally me, a total design freak, I made a mood board for what I want my room to look/feel like. If I don't have a set vision, I am soo all over the place and just buy stuff that is cute, but then it doesn't really mesh all together.

Anyways...here is my mental work in progress...bigger version on my flickr

I am refurbishing my existing dresser by painting it and replacing the knobs with ones I got from Anthropologie. I especially like the cute yellow bird! :)

I took these shots minutes before the movers arrived w/ all our stuff, so it looks really empty.

My lovely large closet

Still gotta get a bookcase, hang art, and paint/put new knobs on my dresser...phew.

Bedroom Dreams

I've got another brand new bedroom to decorate and make my own for at least the next year. I am moving in this weekend! It has a great view of the East River and a huge closet, so of course, I am on the prowl looking for ideas.

2x3 amulet rug. Urban Outfitters. $18

Now I am a big advocate about NOT smoking, so these pretty ashtrays are for candy (Chris I've got you covered).

butlerandmaid
. $12

graphic style lampshade. via drawflowers. $100.

masseyandrogers. $70.

Massey and rogers are great textile designers from the UK. I liked the bottom lampshade even more because it has a great handmade quality with the weaving. No price listed on their website.

Maybe this one for one day.... $1,280

Some home decorating

Lauren and I put up my three musican paintings that I made for my series painting project soph year. They are good addition for the wall behind the futon and the colors work really well with the futon and chair. We think it looks more homey now.

Plus a pic of my painting as of early today...
